LonelyGirl15 - Work of Fiction

During the past few months YouTube user LonelyGirl15 aka Bree, uploaded several clips of her "life", and soon her video blog became one of the most viewed/subscribed channels at the site. "

Now it turns out it was all a work of fiction created by three film makers and was exposed by the media, including Tom Foremski, earlier this week.

It turns out Matt Foremski - son of Tom - managed to track down Jessica Rose, the actress who plays Bree, using MySpace and Google cache (which stores deleted web pages). Even though the creators of LonelyGirl15 had taken careful measures to hide Jessica Rose's identity, a link at MySpace lead Matt to a deleted page in Google Cache and he nailed the story. Not bad for an 18 year old!
